I finally finished this project on Sunday. And I'm in love. It was supposed to be finished before the end of last year but life got too busy. Anyway, I think I'm going to make one of these granny square blankets every year. I'm already in the process of deciding what colors I'm going to use for my next one! They're so easy...anyone can do it! And for me, its completely therapeutic.

Ok I feel super creepy because you don't know me but I stumbled onto to your blog (which is darling by-the-way) and saw this picture. I have wanted to make a granny square blanket really bad but have never done anything like it so I'm a bit confused with how to get started and well...everything. This version is so so cute!! I was wondering if you used a pattern and if you might be willing to share how you made it?

Thanks and hopefully this isn't too creepy! ha

Morgan-
Don't feel creepy! I basically learned through blogs and youtube videos too!
This blog has a really really good tutorial for the granny square...its the one I learned from. http://theroyalsisters.blogspot.com/2010/04/grandma-all-square-tutorial.html
You basically just need to know two stitches...a single crochet and a double crochet. If you don't know how to do those just youtube them. They are really easy to learn!
I've also used these blogs:

Let me know if you have any questions!
