tank the houseguest

Meet Tank.
He's been living with us for a couple of weeks now. And he is the biggest, furriest sweetheart we've ever met.

Let me explain. I have had this extreme love for Great Danes for years. Years! And I really don't know why. It could be all the episodes of Scooby Doo I watched when I was younger, but I really don't know. Anyway, a few years ago I came across this website. I've always enjoyed looking at the Danes that were available for adoption and I've always wanted one but my mom told me no. Well, sometime in January, after I had my OWN house with a fenced backyard, I decided I wanted one but I knew we didn't have the money or time needed to train a puppy. So we decided to foster through Rocky Mountain Great Dane rescue. I thought it was a great, no-cost alternative...and it would let us know if having a dog is really something we'd want in the future. Its been a good learning experience and, fortunately for him, Tank is in the process of being adopted right now. Cue the happy and sad tears.

Oh my goodness, he's so cute! :) I'm so glad that you have decided to foster furballs! We love it and you get attached so fast. The best feeling though is knowing that they are going to be in the best home for them. And the best part is that the new owner stays in contact with us - they send us pics and updates. It's really a cool way to meet people. There are some families that we even hang out with it! Congrats on your first foster dog & yes it will be bittersweet - but such a good feeling.
