life lately. and a baby bump.

31 weeks, photo by sarah

here we are, at the end of august, and its been, what, like two weeks since i've dropped in? those weren't my intentions. i'm sitting up entirely too late waiting for the spin cycle to finish so i can put our socks in the dryer and i figured now would be as good a time as any to stop by. i had been meaning to start on my europe posts last week but, you see, my computer has been unplugged, pushed to the center of the room and covered with a drop cloth for the past week or so. andy has been working very very hard priming, puttying and painting the nursery. in fact, he is painting this very second! i'm getting so excited to decorate the nursery and to get that crib up! i can't believe that i'm 32 weeks already. this little girl will be here before we know it! andy is so excited. and me, well, i'm just nervous. the reality has finally hit me...this little girl has got to come out somehow...and she is only going to get bigger in the next eight weeks. i'll survive i'm sure.
you wanna know something? feeling her little kicks, jabs, and pokes are one of the greatest feelings in the world. no one ever told me how incredible it is. it has definitely been my favorite part of the pregnancy. i'm sure you could guess my least favorite part...the morning sickness, or should i say the all day sickness, that plagued me for the first 16 weeks. i've had no strange cravings. no cravings at all really. i may eat more bacon and ice cream than normal, but i wouldn't consider them cravings. mexican food and sweets were lethal during my first few weeks and while they still don't leave the greatest taste in my mouth, i can stomach them most of the time. other than that, i really can't complain. this pregnancy has been good to me thus far.
the closer it gets to my due date, the closer autumn gets. and autumn is my favorite, you know. summer is dying down. i can feel it in the air in the early morning and evening. and while i'm sure we still have plenty of hot days ahead of us, that cool air gives me hope. plus, its really not that much fun being so very pregnant in 90+ degree weather, just in case you were wondering.
