europe//kosice

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

this is kosice. more than half of andy's time in slovakia was spent in this city. robert is the branch president here and was an influential part in getting the missionaries to kosice. i really, really liked robert. he was such a sweet man. he took us for a tour of the city and bought us zmrzlina. it was so interesting to learn about the history of this absolutely beautiful city. i loved it. and i loved the ham and corn pizza. oh my goodness...the pizza over there was delish!
this last picture is one of the main reasons andy wanted to take me to slovakia. klara. she is the little lady on the left. the excitement that came across her face when she saw andy standing at the door is something i will not forget. i could tell that they had a special bond. when he was over here andy taught her about our church and in return he said he felt like he received a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ. this was a special experience for me because only days before i met klara i had been in auschwitz, which is were klara was taken as a young jewish girl. she didn't talk much about it but of course that was understandable. she was so sweet and had such a big heart. even though i couldn't understand a word she said, i could just feel her love. i completely understand why andy wanted me to meet her. and i'm so glad i got the chance.

I'm loving your pictures and stories! This one had me holding back tears. Klara seems so special and reminds me of those people I love in Ukraine. Its great that you got to meet her!
